Why can't I sign in on FaceTime on my iPod touch 4G?

I've never been able to sign in on my FaceTime app since I bought my iPod 3 months ago. It always says my password or username is incorrect. But I am sure it is correct. I've used the same Apple ID to sign in everywhere! Is this a known issue? Any solutions? THANKS!
