How to un-brick my jailbreakme.com jail broken ipod touch 3g?

I wanted to un-do the jail break by resetting the ipod to factory settings, but it bricked it and when the iPod boots it shows the apple logo for 15 seconds then the loading circle and then it stops flashes and does it again. Ive tried restoring it in itunes via the DFU method, got the 1601 error, tried blackra1n, didn't even recognize the ipod. redsn0w wouldn't recognize the ipsw, and ireb just failed at life.
