Update problem on ipod 4g 4.1?

i have ipod 4g 4.1 and i want to update it, but every time i try it keeps saying network timed out after a while. i have cydia, and on it was this thing on the home page saying it would automatically tell apple not to update and it kept dont update answers on file. i pressed agree on accident, and i cant update my ipod. if the cydia thing is the problem how do i get rid of it and if not can someone tell me how to fix this
