I fell in love once, and fell in love again?

i fell in love once and had my heart broken. it healed over time... but i fell in love again. i mean it all happened in less than a year. i fell in love, got a broken heart, healed over time, and now i am in love. just thinking about the other one makes me hurt... but i think about the apple of my eye now and i forget the pain. i think i learned things from the past. is this kind of normal for everything to happen in a year and still feel hurt by the other persons actions, but feel better with someone new helping me get better?
