How do you know if your at risk for getting saddle nose from septum ring?

I pierced my septum in october. The hole isnt touching the cartalage, but its close to it. it was fine till a little over a month ago when a pus pocket formed at the bottom of where my cartalage begins. I ignored it for a while cause im kind of stupid and i was wondering if it could eat away at my nose cartalage and force the bridge of my nose to collapse? is it too late? am i going to be deformed forever?
